Recette principale: Gap. La gare et un d\u00e9p\u00f4t de locomotives sont construits \u00e0 Veynes avant que ne soit construite la gare de Gap. De 1893 \u00e0 1942, la ligne Veynes-Gap est doubl\u00e9e mais d\u00e9pos\u00e9e en 1942. Par ce fait, cela devient une ligne \u00e0 voie unique. Le trafic ferroviaire \u00e9tant plus important jusque Veynes qui \u00e9tait un carrefour ferroviaire, les PTT s&rsquo;y install\u00e8rent.
