Elle est exploit\u00e9e par la r\u00e9gion\u00a0\u00bb Conakry-Niger\u00a0\u00bb. Ce chemin de fer est d&rsquo;une longueur de 662 km. Les deux missions du capitaine du g\u00e9nie Salesses vont en d\u00e9finir le futur trac\u00e9. Il en dirigera la construction. Puis la ligne nous emm\u00e8ne vers Tabili au km 77 terminus des trains de grande banlieue. Direction Kindia, au km 152 pour se diriger vers\u00a0 Mamou au km 295. Mamou a servi longtemps de gite d&rsquo;\u00e9tape quand les trains ne roulaient pas de nuit. Ensuite la ligne s&rsquo;enfonce vers Dabola au km 442, c&rsquo;est la premi\u00e8re grande gare du bassin du Niger. La ligne atteint enfin Kouroussa au km 587, grand centre commercial sur le Niger. Un dernier parcourt \u00e0 travers la savane nous m\u00e8ne au terminus de la ligne: Kankan. Au sortir de la deuxi\u00e8me guerre mondiale, le parc des tractions \u00e9tait dans un \u00e9tat d\u00e9plorable d\u00fb au manque de pi\u00e8ces de rechange. Une partie des locos \u00e9tait en panne.<\/p>\n<p>Parc en 1948:<\/p>\n<p>59 machines, en majorit\u00e9 de type Mallet, Quelques locomotives Cail 28000, quelques Mikado de type modifi\u00e9es. Pour les trains de bananes, des locomotives Haine Saint Pierre.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Exploitation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>En 1949, un train express hebdomadaire relie Conakry \u00e0 Kankan en 18 heures et 3 \u00e0 4 fois par semaine. Un train mixte couvre le m\u00eame parcourt en deux journ\u00e9es avec arr\u00eat pour la nuit \u00e0 Mamou. Des navettes de petite banlieue relient Conakry \u00e0 Dixinn, et un train de grande banlieue quotidien unit Tabili \u00e0 Conakry. La di\u00e9s\u00e9lisation du parc amena un nouveau souffle pour le r\u00e9seau de la Guin\u00e9e, ainsi 3 Renault ABJH sont livr\u00e9s prenant la rel\u00e8ve des autorails De Dion. Les locomotives diesel de type BB arriv\u00e8rent ensuite. En 1957, plus aucune locomotive vapeur n\u2019\u00e9tait en service par contre l&rsquo;effectif diesel \u00e9tait de 13 unit\u00e9s.
